TIMOTHY N. TIPTON

Mr. Tipton is vice president of Upstream Technology for Marathon Oil Company. He has served in this position since September 2000, after serving as manager of Engineering & Technology, Reservoir Technology, since September 1999.

Mr. Tipton joined Marathon in 1978 as an associate petroleum/production engineer in Illinois, and moved through a series of staff, supervisory and managerial assignments in Louisiana, Colorado, Wyoming and Texas, before becoming production manager in the Rocky Mountain Region in 1996.

Mr. Tipton holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
