Financial Assistance

Careers-HighSchoolOutreach-FinancialAssistanceWhen it comes time to pursue your college education, financial considerations will be part of the process. Identifying scholarship possibilities and assessing your family's financial picture are two elements in making sure your college experience goes as smoothly as possible.

Scholarships:

Scholarships come in many configurations and are awarded based on a variety of factors. It's important to find scholarship opportunities that match your qualifications and interests. Your high school will have resources about scholarships, but you can also explore opportunities with specific universities of interest. Another excellent source for scholarship possibilities is through professional organizations.

The following resources are among many opportunities that may be of interest to those pursuing careers in the energy industry.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA):

The U.S. Department of Education uses the Free Application for Federal Student Aid to determine your Expected Family Contribution. This includes a needs analysis based on financial information. Once submitted and processed, the results are electronically transmitted to the financial aid offices of the schools that you list on your application.

FAFSA is used by nearly all colleges and universities to determine eligibility for federal, state and college-sponsored financial aid. This includes grants, educational loans and work-study programs.
