RESPONSIBILITIES

In this job you will be applying the principles that were learned in your Electrical Engineering classes to various projects within the refinery. Specifically, you will be working on projects that could involve the installation or repair of equipment on the power side of the refinery and/or the installation of various controls throughout the refinery. You will gain a broad understanding of the refinery, as well as, the refining environment.

Past projects/duties have included the following: survey and update of refinery motors and transformers; update refinery one-line instrumentation drawings; assist with relay coordination calculations; work to develop small project construction packages which include work scopes and drawings; projects to upgrade and optimize instrumentation and control systems.

Most likely you will be working in the Engineering Department which is responsible for providing technical service on the various refining processes to the Operations Department and completing various mechanical and electrical design projects within the refinery.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Desired Major: Electrical Engineering.
Hiring Locations: Canton, Ohio; Catlettsburg, Kentucky; Detroit, Michigan; Garyville, Louisiana; Robinson, Illinois; St. Paul, Minnesota and Texas City, Texas.
Students must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA.
Positions are available summer, fall and spring semesters.
