Purchasing Contracts Representative

RESPONSIBILITIES

The entry-level Purchasing and Contracts representative combines purchasing and contracting skills with the collective knowledge of the client operating components in evaluating, establishing, and executing the strategies identified for the most effective acquisition of supplies, equipment, and services.

The Purchasing and Commercial Services (P&CS) representative will support the Company's commitment to high ethical standards, environmental stewardship, employee safety and community responsibility; participate in the Company's strategic sourcing, contract management and supplier diversity processes; develop a thorough knowledge of the Company's policies and procedures related to procurement, contracts and materials management; develop proficiencies in procuring products and services; and establish and maintain rapport with suppliers, colleagues and management. The P&CS Representative will be involved with hands-on purchasing of indirect goods and services; cross-functional strategic sourcing activities; market and spend analysis; preparation and analysis of bid packages; negotiation of contractual terms and commercial issues; and projects and tasks related to inventory control, transportation, and logistics. The

Representative will use various software applications, including eProcurement and reverse auctions. The representative will function in a team-oriented environment, interacting with Law, Business Integrity, Safety, Environmental, Engineering, Maintenance and other organizations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Desired Majors: Purchasing and Supply Chain Management.
  • Hiring Locations: Robinson, Illinois; Catlettsburg, Kentucky; Garyville, Louisiana; Detroit, Michigan; St. Paul Park, Minnesota; Canton, Ohio, Findlay, Ohio; and Texas City, Texas.
  • Students must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
  • Participation in professional and other extracurricular activities is preferred.
