Kristin Færøvik was appointed to her current role in January 2008. Prior to her current role, Færøvik was commercial manager for Marathon Petroleum Company (Norway). She joined the company in 2003 from BP and brings the benefit of her more than 20 years of industry experience in Norway and other international locations. From 1998 to 2003, Færøvik held various leadership positions with BP in Norway, most recently as gas, midstream & commercial manager, responsible for managing all commercial aspects of BP's gas portfolio (Skarv and Ormen Lange in particular). Prior to this, her roles included working in Melbourne, Australia, as commercial advisor for the Papua New Guinea portfolio, with particular focus on gas commercialization; and commercial advisor in Norway. In 1985 Færøvik graduated with a master's degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Trondheim (NTH), Norway. After graduating, she joined BP, spending five years as a petroleum engineer, including one year on the Ula installation, offshore Norway, and two years on assignment in the U.K. |
