Employees and contractors at our Brae platform add profitable production from the North Sea. Other core regions include the U.S., Canada and Equatorial Guinea.

The North Dakota Bakken Shale oil play is a centerpiece of our unconventional resource portfolio and a top investment priority for Marathon. In 2010, this growth asset accounted for 17 percent of Marathon's total U.S. liquid hydrocarbon sales and 1 percent of our U.S. natural gas sales.
We hold 391,000 net acres located in the established Williston Basin in five North Dakota and three Montana counties, and continue to build our position. In our operated assets, we have a working interest of approximately 80 percent.
By using state-of-the-art automated rigs in the Bakken to achieve best-in-class drilling performance, we have reduced well costs and cycle times and improved safety and energy efficiency. In addition, Marathon has implemented proactive environmental practices in sensitive areas located on federal and tribal lands.
In 2011, we plan to drill 70-75 operated wells and 50-70 outside operated wells in the Bakken with the goal of reaching a production exit rate of 18 mboepd.
Marathon’s commitment to the community is deeply rooted in our core values. Our employee-run Books for Bioko program collects supplies for schools in Equatorial Guinea.
