Employees and contractors at our Brae platform add profitable production from the North Sea. Other core regions include the U.S., Canada and Equatorial Guinea.

A strategic stakeholder engagement process is under way in Poland, where Marathon has identified more than 2,000 stakeholders. We believe building relationships with government officials, communities and landowners is critical to our success in this asset.
As part of our stakeholder engagement, we hosted Polish government officials on a tour of our North Dakota Bakken Shale operations prior to starting exploration work in Poland. In addition, we are participating in a Polish industry association establishing energy development protocols.
Marathon’s local team has initiated individual, small group and town hall engagements to better understand stakeholder concerns and how they might be addressed. Potential issues that we may face in Poland include road infrastructure, water consumption, contractor availability and negative perceptions about the industry and shale operations.
Marathon’s commitment to the community is deeply rooted in our core values. Our employee-run Books for Bioko program collects supplies for schools in Equatorial Guinea.
