Eileen M. CampbellEileen M. Campbell is vice president of Public Policy for Marathon Oil Corporation, where she is responsible for the Company's Federal, State and International Government Affairs and Administrative Services organizations. She was appointed to her current position in June 2010. Her career spans over 20 years, focusing on management, human resources, public policy and government affairs.
Ms. Campbell joined Marathon in 1991 as manager of Government Affairs, lobbying for Marathon in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Colorado and New Mexico. In July 1998, she was appointed director of State Governmental Affairs for USX Corporation, former holding company for Marathon Oil Company, overseeing the Corporation's government affairs activities in 26 states. She was appointed to an internal task force charged with planning the future strategic direction of Marathon Oil Company in 1999. In 2000 Ms. Campbell was promoted to vice president of Human Resources. During her 10 years in this role, she realigned the function into a strategic partnership with Marathon's business units.
Prior to joining Marathon, Ms. Campbell worked at United Gas Pipeline as chief lobbyist in Washington DC, Louisiana and Texas.
Ms. Campbell began her career in Washington DC advocating for the state of New Jersey and its governor with the US Congress and various federal agencies. She became chief lobbyist for a Washington DC consulting firm representing banking and educational organizations. Ms. Campbell then spent more than six years with the National Association of Manufacturing (NAM) in their Chicago and Houston offices where she oversaw marketing and public affairs.
A native of New Jersey, Ms. Campbell holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of Maryland. She is a board member and the immediate past chairman of the board of the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering, Inc. (NACME), and a board member of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM). She is a former board member and former president of the Greater Houston Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and Girls Incorporated of Greater Houston.
