Devenick_Large_Spotlight

Marathon is responsible for managing a large part of the Devenick project scope on behalf of operator BP including the engineering design, procurement, construction and commissioning of a new 600 tonne topsides module for East Brae.

Phil Cremin, project manager, said; “Thanks to robust planning and risk assessment processes and the diligence of our team in executing all tasks with safety as the overriding priority we are successfully delivering the project on time and under budget.”

Construction of the Devenick module commenced in December 2010 and was completed on schedule and under budget in nine months. This culminated in the offshore heavy lift in October 2011.

Pete Jones, UK resident manager said, “Congratulations to the Devenick team who, with the support of the whole organization, is succeeding in delivering this project safely, on time and on budget. This demonstrates the strength of the team we have and how, by working together, we are extending field life and adding value to Brae.”

The Devenick field is situated 38km north east of the platform and will be produced via two wells and tied back via a 10-in flowline. The hook up and commissioning work is ongoing with first production expected in 2012.
