Employees and contractors at our Brae platform add profitable production from the North Sea. Other core regions include the U.S., Canada and Equatorial Guinea.

Marathon facilities develop programs for waste minimization, recycling, reuse and reclamation based on their specific needs. Business units monitor their own waste disposal activities. Due to these practices, Marathon has had a challenge developing a Company-wide approach to minimizing wastes and residual materials.
In 2009, we began collecting and analyzing waste management data from all Downstream business units to identify and prioritize waste minimization opportunities.
In 2010, we will include Upstream business units in this evaluation. In addition, refining will complete a multi-year project to further manage one of the largest hazardous waste streams at each plant. Management methods include reclamation, energy recovery or recycling.
We plan to develop a program to further reduce risks and wastes and increase recycling.
Marathon’s commitment to the community is deeply rooted in our core values. Our employee-run Books for Bioko program collects supplies for schools in Equatorial Guinea.
