Marathon promotes open, honest communication in the workplace. Our grievance system provides many options for reporting and settling differences without fear of retaliation. We encourage employees first to work with their supervisor to resolve issues. Confidential assistance is also available from local Human Resources consultants and the Integrity Helpline.
For confidential assistance, employees may also contact Marathon's ombudsman for conflict and dispute resolution. The ombudsman can refer employees to other resources or channels as needed. In 2010, 103 employees sought assistance from the ombudsman on issues including administration of policies and procedures, and employee morale.
Marathon’s commitment to the community is deeply rooted in our core values. Our employee-run Books for Bioko program collects supplies for schools in Equatorial Guinea.
