Employees and contractors at our Brae platform add profitable production from the North Sea. Other core regions include the U.S., Canada and Equatorial Guinea.

Marathon employed 29,677 men and women at year-end 2010, primarily in the U.S. Approximately 19,500 of these were Speedway personnel, most of whom worked at the Company's retail marketing outlets.
The turnover rate in the U.S. (excluding Speedway employees) was 6.9 percent, compared to 4.8 percent in 2009. Outside the U.S., the turnover rate was 6.9 percent, compared to 5.5 percent in 2009. Turnover among all Speedway employees was approximately 84 percent, the same as in 2009.
Marathon promotes the International Labour Organization (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. Our labor practices worldwide ensure that our employees are granted the four fundamental rights asserted in the Declaration. Approximately 12.5 percent of our U.S. employees are represented by labor unions with which we negotiate collective bargaining agreements and extensions.
Marathon’s commitment to the community is deeply rooted in our core values. Our employee-run Books for Bioko program collects supplies for schools in Equatorial Guinea.
