Employees and contractors at our Brae platform add profitable production from the North Sea. Other core regions include the U.S., Canada and Equatorial Guinea.

At year-end 2010, approximately 30 percent of our U.S. workforce (excluding Speedway) was eligible for retirement. We facilitate knowledge transfer from experienced to new employees through training and development programs. These include temporary assignments and projects to build skills and technical competencies, deepen knowledge and expertise, and learn best practices. Technical communities of practice and organization- and function-specific training programs target employees' development needs.
Marathon’s commitment to the community is deeply rooted in our core values. Our employee-run Books for Bioko program collects supplies for schools in Equatorial Guinea.
