Mr. Foshee joined the Marathon Oil board of directors in 2018.
He is founder and owner of Sallyport Investments. He previously served as chairman, president and chief executive officer of El Paso Corporation until its merger with Kinder Morgan in 2012. Prior to joining El Paso in 2003, he worked for Halliburton Company in various roles including executive vice president and chief operating officer, and executive vice president and chief financial officer. Prior to Halliburton, he was president, CEO and chairman of Nuevo Energy Company from 1996 to 2001, and served in various positions including chief operating officer and CEO at Torch Energy Advisors from 1993 to 1997.
Mr. Foshee is a founder and director of NextOp Vets and founder of Houstonians for Great Public Schools. He is a regional board member of KIPP Houston, serves on the board of trustees of Rice University, chair of Rice Management Company, and is on the council of overseers of the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management at Rice University. Mr. Foshee also serves as a board member for various charitable and non-profit organizations, including the Texas Business Hall of Fame Foundation, Welch Foundation and the Houston Endowment. He is a past board member of Cameron International.
He holds an MBA from Rice University, a bachelor’s degree from Southwest Texas State University and is a graduate of Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.
