As someone who is not only a teacher but also a coach, Jennifer Winchester feels like there are multiple occasions throughout the year that she’s able to demonstrate Unconventional Thinking. One specific case is when she taught Romeo and Juliet. The students knew that this was a very old piece of literature and that it was going to be difficult to understand. She wanted them to understand the piece and enjoy it. She did this by translating the literature as we typically read it into how the students would say it in their own current language.

This made the literature fun and gave them a better understanding of what Romeo and Juliet were really saying to each other. They were also able to compare the lifestyle and choices that were being made to what would be considered right in their eyes.
