Making a Difference on Industry Habitat Day

November, 2021 — North Dakota

Our employees continue to make a difference every day. Recently, a group of Marathon Oil employees volunteered for Industry Habitat Day at the Shade Ranch in Fryberg, North Dakota. This annual volunteer day supports the efforts of the Mule Deer Foundation, whose mission is to ensure the conservation of mule deer, black-tailed deer and their habitat. To combat habitat loss, specific projects at the foundation focus on removing conifers that encroach into sagebrush rangelands, which improves native grasses, forbs, and shrubs while retaining water on the landscape.

Our employees helped remove Juniper and Cedar trees that have encroached on the grasslands, and both southern and eastern slopes. A big thank you to the Bakken team for making a difference!
