Food Bank of Oklahoma

December, 2019 — Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Part of "Living Our Values" is investing in the communities where we live and work. Each year, we invite employees to become personally involved in supporting local non-profits across our asset areas by participating in our Workplace Giving program. Through the program, our employees fund programs that improve educational opportunities, health and the overall quality of life.

Regional Foodbank - Oklahoma City

One example is the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. Mark, an Advanced Material Controller in Oklahoma, has been donating to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma for many years.

After joining Marathon Oil, he was able to take advantage of the opportunity to double the impact of his donation through Workplace Giving, which matches employee donations of $25 or more to our community partners on a 1:1 basis with no cap.

“The Food Bank does great work. They support the truly needy, the ones who are less fortunate than us, and they run a very lean organization. Their overhead is quite small, so a huge portion of our donations go straight to benefitting the community."

Workplace Giving is just a small way we can help those who have fallen on hard times. It’s helping those that really need it, that’s what makes it worth it.

“Workplace Giving is just a small way we can help those who have fallen on hard times. It’s helping those that really need it, that’s what makes it worth it. I’m always appreciative of an employer that makes the effort to get the workforce involved and bring us together for a common goal of helping local organizations. Without this kind of support, organizations that depend on us would really suffer.”
